The ONCE Social Group’s Transparency and Ethics Observatory ensures the implementa-tion of the Law on Transparency, Access to Pu-blic Information and Good Governance; and in matters of ethics it promotes dissemination and knowledge; monitors compliance with codes of ethics and conduct, including the prevention and management of possible conflicts of inte-rest; presents initiatives for the development of ethical behaviour and channels and manages complaints, claims and suggestions in matters of ethics. It constitutes the head of the Ethics Working Group, responsible in turn on which the latest depends, of running day-to-day ope-rations. It includes rules, policies and procedures that constitute the due diligence mechanism to pro-tect the legitimacy, good governance and trust of members, staff, public administrations and other stakeholders. 6.1. Ethics Keep reading Keep reading Ethical and behavioural standards: Code of Ethics and Conduct of the people in the ONCE Social Group with institutional and management responsibility: this is specified in 11 ethical values and the commitments to achieve them: Transparency, Solidarity, Con-fidentiality, Fairness, Commitment, Integrity, Humility, Respect, Innovation, Responsibility and Sustainability, which the management team pledges to comply with its signature. Code of Ethics and Guide of Conduct for em-ployees of the ONCE Social Group: a guide of conduct for ethical behaviour, to which they are not obliged to subscribe. The latest version was approved in 2023. Codes of conduct regarding security in the gaming area: basic principles of action and conduct of the staff involved in ONCE’s com-mercial activity. They are inspired by values of loyalty, transparency, professionalism and confidentiality, and are binding. WLA (World Lottery Association) Best Prac-tice Guidelines for Marketing and Communi-cation: they set out guidelines for responsi-ble advertising of lottery products. They are adopted by the ONCE, as well as by adver-tising and media agencies, and suppliers of marketing actions and campaigns. Criminal Prevention Model: preventive me-asures to avoid of possible criminal offen-ces in the ONCE and its environment. There is a Criminal Compliance Policy, updated in 2023, which is mandatory and applies glo-bally to the Organisation. In addition, there is an external due diligence procedure for the selection and contracting of suppliers, which requires compliance with the Code of Conduct for suppliers, including the ethical and conduct principles, aligned with the ten universal principles of the United Nations Global Compact and with the principles and values of the ONCE Social Group and, in 2023, an internal due diligence procedure has been implemented for the selection and contracting of job candidates. Tax compliance model: there exists a tax compliance policy, the backbone document of the tax compliance management system and company regulation for tax procedures in the ONCE. Prevention of money laundering and the fi-nancing of terrorism: there is a body of in-ternal control, the ONCE Commission for the Prevention of Money Laundering and the Fi-nancing of Terrorism, and an ONCE represen-tative has been appointed to the Executive Service of the Commission for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Monetary Offen-ces (SEPBLAC); there is an internal manual describing all measures in this area; internal procedures and IT tools have been provided for the detection, analysis and communica-tion of operations that could be related to money laundering and/or the financing of terrorism, among others. Responsible information management and data protection policy: different controls are established to guarantee the protection of information, including the Information Clas-sification Protocol (ICP) to identify the diffe-rent information assets and manage them appropriately in terms of security and res-pect for data privacy. In addition, there is a Data Protection and Security Committee and a Document Assessment Committee to monitor compliance with internal and exter-nal standards, establish criteria and measu-res and resolve internal queries. Data protection audit (biennial) to check the level of compliance and effectiveness of se-curity measures in the processing personal data, in accordance with current legislation and internal regulations.
